Everest Challenge Update

March 28, 2024

Week 4

We are delighted to confirm that we have already completed our Challenge of 605 ascents. Hooray! Thank you to the team and everyone else who helped contribute to this amazing achievement. With a day still left we will continue to power through, to see just how high we can get – stay posted for further updates.

Please remember, it’s not too late to donate, all proceeds will be going to SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.

Week 3

Week 3 and the team have made amazing progress. We’re now at 461 ascents (just over 22,000 ft) and are closing in on the equivalent of the north column. Track our full progress.

1 week to go to the top and a huge thank you to all who have sponsored us so far. If you’re able to help with any donations for this worthy cause, please visit our Justgiving page.

Week 2

We’re over half way now at 308 ascents. Unfortunately our team have reduced somewhat as many of the climbers are taking a well-deserved late summer holiday.

We’re still confident of success though and will continue to push on to the summit.

Week 1

At the end of the 1st week, the team have managed to reach 8,016ft or 167 ascents of the building, meaning that we passed through Kathmandu on out virtual climb on Thursday and we should reach Lukla (196 ascents) but late on Tuesday.

Debbie Rochester our Lone Worker management accountant leads way, having climbed an impressive 972ft last week and is hoping to put a few more climbs under her belt prior to her holiday later this month.

We’re pleased to report that no-one has need any oxygen yet, although we all agree that by floor 3, the legs start to burn.
